
1. From what age
is it possible to hire a vehicle?
It is possible to hire one of our vehicles from the age of 25.
2.
What type of driving licence is requested?
It is necessary that the driver be in possession of the driving licence
for over a year, that it includes category B and is valid.
3.
Is it necessary that the person who signs the hiring contract specifies
the driver’s name?
Yes. When the vehicle is picked up it will be necessary to show the
driving licence of the nominated driver.
4.
Can people other than the nominated driver drive the vehicle?
Yes. There is an extra charge of 3.00 Euros a day. The nominated driver
has to communicate the names of other possible drivers at the pick up
agency.
5. How much does it
cost to hire a vehicle?
The cost varies according to the type of car chosen, the insurance
coverage, the equipment and the duration.
6.
Could the final costs be different to the estimated costs?
The initial costs include services that could vary according to
circumstances; for example the refuelling of the car, returning the car to
a different agency, fines etc.
7. Is insurance coverage
included?
The hiring costs include civil responsibility insurance, compulsory by law
(R.C.A), fire and theft coverage (with penalty), car damages coverage
caused by the driver (with penalty).
8. Are there penalties to pay?
Yes. There are penalties for damages and theft the costs of which vary
according to the car hired. It is possible to eliminate these penalties by
agreeing to extra insurance schemes (Super Kasco, Super Theft).
9. Are there
extra airport charges?
No, the airport charges are already included in the hiring costs.
10.
When and how are the payments made?
The calculations and the payments are made when the car is hired and have
to be paid by Credit Card. In the case of cash payments there is a caution
deposit of 500.00 Euros to be paid.
11. Where can we
hire a vehicle from?
From any of our agencies.
To have the vehicle delivered to a hotel or living place there is a
service charge for the delivery and pick up which varies according to the
distance from the nearest Sardinya Car hire Agency.
12. When does
the vehicle have to be returned?
At the end of the period agreed in the hiring contract. One car hire day
is calculated as 24 hours (which begin when the vehicle is picked up) with
a 3 hour tolerance. Once the fixed time has been missed an extra days
rental will be added to the final cost. The car is to be returned within
office hours. There is an extra charge of 20.00 Euros if it is returned
outside office hours.

Can the car hire period be extended?
Yes, but it is necessary to contact the agency within 24 hours of the
fixed return date on the contract so that the insurance coverage can be
extended.
14.
Does the vehicle have to be returned with a full tank of petrol?
Yes, otherwise you will be charged for the missing litres plus an extra
13.00 Euros refuelling service.
15. Where can
vehicle be returned?
At any of our agencies. If the vehicle is returned to a different agency
from where it was picked up then there is an extra charge of 60.00 Euros.
16. What must I do in
case of an accident?
An accident has to be communicated within 24 hours to one of our agencies.
The driver has to fill in all the appropriate parts of the C.I.D form in
order to avoid the penalty costs due to lack of proof of responsibility.
17. Can the vehicle
be replaced?
If a customer needs a replacement car it is possible top pick one up from
our agency providing it is available. However, the agency reserves the
right to refuse the request of a car replacement.
18. What must I do in
the case of a fine?
A fine due to the driver’s conduct is chargeable to the driver who has to
pay it immediately or if this is impossible has to contact the agency as
quickly as possible in order to avoid late payment taxes being added to
the fine.
If the car hire office recieves a specific request for the driver’s
details by the police then it is compelled to give them the information
required so that the fine can be sent directly to the driver.
19.
What must I do if I lose the car keys?
The car keys are the customers responsibility. If the keys are lost then
there is an extra charge of 150.00 Euros (VAT included)..
20.
What must I do if I lose the car documents?
The safety of the car documents is the customers responsibility. If they
are lost then there is an extra charge of 300.00 Euros (VAT included).
21.
Is it permitted to take the vehicle hired outside of Sardinia?
Yes, but it is necessary to ask the Management in Sassari for
authorization.
22. How can I get a written receipt of my booking?
When you have finished the on-line car hire booking procedure, Sardinya
Car Hire will automatically send, to the e-mail address previously entered,
a booking voucher which should be printed and presented on arrival at the
car hire agency or office.
